My NetGalley Queue

Oh geesh. I try to keep it under control but I think it is a bit wayward at the moment. Holy cow. I need to get these books knocked off the list already! AH! I feel like I'm drowning. I think I'm going to do a NetGalley read-a-thon this month.

Without furthur adieu... here are ten books currently waiting in my NetGalley queue. What's in yours?

I have a pile more in that NetGalley queue of mine. I even have 1 book from 2011. Oh the shame!! I try really hard not to request many from NetGalley because I don't want this to happen. Well...I'm going to need to focus on only NetGalley books for the month of Oct-Nov!

How many are in your NetGalley queue? I'm not even sure I know how many are there anymore with the new website. It's a bit confusing to me as of present. I just want all the books I've yet to review in one place. Is that so hard to ask?!

  1. Oh I have like 300-ish in my queue... when I first signed up in 2010 I didn't realize the concept really which led to my downfall lol. I try to do a better job now but oh it's just so tempting to request all these amazing titles!!

    I should probably do a read-a-thon too...

    1. 300?!?! Whoa?! Holy cow. The most I ever had was 22 in my queue. I don't like to ever go over that because I want to make sure I'm reviewing what I'm reading. If I need to not request books for a season and miss out on big books, that's OK. I just want to make sure I'm getting through my list.

    2. Haha yeah, I'm working through most of them now but some of the ones from 2010 are off the database completely so that makes it a little difficult lol! But the good news is that I didn't request much in 2011 :D

  2. I've only just joined NetGalley but already have 20 odd books in my queue. Like you, I'm putting in a serious effort to get them read.

    1. We should have a little mini NetGalley read-a-thon! I need to knock these out asap. Make room for the new books coming that I want to review.

  4. Too many to count without feeling ashamed of myself!! Hahaha! I just don't want to miss anything really good. I've been getting to some of the older ones lately and LOVING them. I need more time to read!!
Uh, about that new netgalley site... wow. I though it couldn't get any worse. I was wrong. It looks prettier. But it's a giant mess and impossible to find anything you need. Blah.

    1. yeah, there are some kinks that need to be fixed that's for sure. I liked being able to see what I still needed to give feedback on. Now there are all these lists except for the one I need. I hate seeing all the archived titles mixed with the ones I'm working on now.

I'd love to not miss anything either, but the purpose of NetGalley is to have the books reviewed. Do I have too many books in my queue that I wont' be able to get to in a timely fashion? I base my requests on that. If I miss out, I miss out. It's more important for me to get the books reviewed. Keeps me on my toes though. Keep the queue down so I can keep requesting.

  5. I try not to request Netgalley books too frequently since it takes me longer to get through eBooks. I think I only have one in my queue right now, maybe two =)

    1. I read eBooks WAY faster than print books. Seriously!

  6. I lost most of my accepted book during the transfer of Netgalley, such a bummer :( But I already got some new ones, lucky me :D Endlessly <3

    Good luck!

    1. What?! What a bummer!!! Well, starting fresh can always be a good thing! Sometimes I wish my queue was wiped clean. I try to keep the queue under 20 books at a time. No more. When I get it down to 5-10 then I can start requesting again.

  8. I think a lot of us can relate to this topic! You are more disciplined than me with your queue that's for sure.

You'll probably knock out your Christmas books soon to review during the holidays. I've been thinking about holiday reading, so I'll be eager to hear what you think of these.

I agree with you that the new NG is a little confusing, and I'm still trying to get used to it. Great TTT topic!

    Happy reading!

  10. Mary, I'm glad you posted about Netgalley! I have a question...if you or anyone can answer, that would be awesome! I have only read 1 book from Netgalley, which was August last year. I read the book, reviewed it on Goodreads (prior to my blog's existence), and I thought I gave the publisher feedback on netgalley.com, but now I'm back looking on Netgalley and I see that I must have hit save, not send because it's still on my dashboard!! Should I now send my feedback from last year? Or just leave it open and don't send anything? I don't want to get a bad rep, LOL. I just received access to 2 more galleys and I want to be crystal clear on the etiquette. Mary what do you think? Anyone else have any advice?
