Favorite Literary Couples

Happy Valentine's Day!

I thought I'd use this day to talk about my favorite Literary couples. Pay homage really, to those special relationships in books that don't seem to exist any other place.

Here's MY list:

Mr. Darcy & Elizabeth Bennet (Pride & Prejudice)

Capt. Wentworth & Anne Elliot (Persuasion)

John Thornton & Margaret Hale (North and South)

Edward and Bella (Twilight)

I have SO many more favorites, but we'd been here ALL day if I tried to list them. WHO are YOUR favorite literary couples and why??

  1. I watched Persuasion like two days ago for the umpteenth time and the minute long kiss scene gets me every time! Oh, I love Captain Wentworth.

  2. Jack and Sarah!!! I love North and South too! (and OF COURSE all the others you mentioned!!!)

  3. What a wonderful idea for Valentine's Day, Mary! I posted my list here:

  4. Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell!! I guess they have an unfair advantage though; they've had 11 novels to cement their love for each other.

  5. JACK and SARAH from These is my Words DEFINITELY!!!!!!No picture for them as there is no movie...but they are on the top!!!

  6. Betsy and Joe from the Betsy Tacy series by Maud Hart Lovelace. Hm... Ella and Char from Ella Enchanted. Can't forget Anne and Gilbert! And why not Emma and Mr. Knightley? Meliara and Vidanric from Crown Duel. Valency and Barney Snaith from The Blue Castle. Cheney and Shiloh from the Dr. Cheney Duvall series. Rose and Mac from Rose in Bloom.

  7. O nice! I recently fell in love with Daiyu and Kalen from Gateway (Sharon Shinn). Their love overcomes all obstacles. I love that.

    Fab list btw :)

I love to hear what you think.
